Drop in, no pre-registration required.  Our friends from HAWS – The Humane Association of Waukesha County will be here!  The Education team will teach us about how we can all be a good friend to animals and the Mobile Adoption Team will have some adoptable friends for us to meet.  You will also have a chance to make a fun toy for the pets at the shelter.  All ages but adult supervision and assistance will be required. This program is held outdoors, in the case of inclement weather it will be cancelled.  Call 262-691-5670 option 4 to check the status.

This kit is for kids entering grades 2-6.  Kit pickup begins on Monday, July 19!

Marble Mazes!  This kit is most appropriate for ages 3 and up and has been designed to be a team effort between kids and adults.  Feel free to adapt the activities to suit your child’s age and attention span.  Use the cardboard tubes, tape, paper and whatever you have at home to construct an amazing marble maze!  You might choose to tape the tubes to a wall or an outside play structure.  Or, get a big box and use that as framework.  Make a plan and get to work! 

Registration and kit pickup begins Monday, July 19 at 9:00 am.  You can pick up your kit anytime the library is open before 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 24.  Any kits not picked up before this time will be given out on a first come, first served basis the following week.

Family Fun Night: Ma
Monday, Jul. 26, 6:30 p.m.
Join us for Family Fun Night – high quality professional performances suitable for the whole family.  All shows will be held outside of the library so remember to dress for the weather and bring something to sit on.  Since we will be outdoors, we will not use tickets or pre-registration but do be sure to maintain a safe social distance.
 

Monday, July 26.  They’re back!  Magic Morgan and Liliana will again visit Pewaukee and amaze us all with their fantastic, mystifying magic show! Magic Morgan has performed in all 50 states and around the world.   We are so lucky he will be able to visit Pewaukee this summer – do not miss this show!  Rain Date: July 28 at 6:30.

Stories in the Park

Stories in the Park at Nettesheim Park, N26 W27495 Prospect Avenue, Pewaukee.  Come on out and enjoy a fun, participatory Story Time with Ms. Jenny.  Bring a blanket to sit on, sunscreen and insect repellant if needed, and a snack.  Stay and play at the park following the stories!  Fun for toddlers, preschoolers, and kindergarteners but older siblings are always welcome and make great helpers.

Book Club: Team Tige

Book Club: Team Tiger Reads:  Some Kind of Courage by Dan Gemeinhart. Registration required. Starts July 6. The book is available at the Children’s Desk on or after that date.  Book Club will be held outside.  Team Tiger is for students entering grades 5 & 6.

Geocaching 101

Learn the basics of geocaching, a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game. There are millions of geocaches hidden around the world..and many right here in Pewaukee!

This program is intended for adults and families. Elementary age children and older are encouraged to attend, but must be accompanied by an adult.

In case of inclement weather, we'll move the program into our Community Room.

For those entering grades 6-12 this fall.  Kit pickup begins on Monday, July 26.  Any kits not picked up by Saturday, July 31 will be given out on a first come, first served basis the following week.

Paint a smooth river rock to look like a cactus and “plant” it in a tiny pot.  This project is easy enough for even the most art-challenged among us, but the finished product looks amazing!  All of the supplies needed to complete this project will be included with your kit.

For those who learn best by watching a demonstration, Ms. Sandy will go Live on the Pewaukee Public Library's Facebook page on Wednesday, July 28 at 2:00 pm to show everyone how to complete this project.  Please join her live to have your questions answered in real time, or watch the video at your leisure.

Make your own crown!  This kit is most appropriate for ages 3 and up and has been designed to be a team effort between kids and adults.  Feel free to adapt the activities to suit your child’s age and attention span.  Decorate a crown with jewels and your own coloring and become King for a day!  It’s fun to imagine and try on different roles.

Teen Outdoor Yoga

This class is for those who will be entering grades 6-12 this fall.  Rain Date: August 12, 6:00 pm

Whether you already love yoga or want to try it for the first time, this class is for you. Learn useful techniques for building a strong and flexible mind and body, as well as skills that can help with meditation and mindfulness.

Yoga mats will not be provided.  Please bring your own, or a beach towel, if you want to use one; this is not required.  Registration is strongly recommended so that our instructor can plan for the appropriate class size.
