The Bill Memorial Library in the City of Groton invites children in grades 1-5 to create a fall painting on Thursday, September 19 at 4:00 PM. Paint your own canvas with a colorful fall tree! All materials are supplied. Registration is required and space is limited.

Join us at the Bill Memorial Library on Thursday, September 19th at 6:00 PM for diamond painting. Diamond painting is an art form similar to paint-by-numbers using rhinestones instead of paint to color a picture. Tools and materials will be provided. Students in grades 6-12 are invited to attend. The program is free and registration is required as space is limited.
The Bill Memorial Library in the City of Groton invites children in grades 3 through 5 to an afterschool cooking class on Thursday, September 26 at 4:00 PM. Instructor Erica Benvenuti, RD, a community nutrition program educator with the UConn Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program, will lead kids in creating delicious fall treats using apples. Registration is required and space is limited.
Something Else Entirely is a speculative fiction book club for busy readers that meets every other month on the second Saturday at Bill Memorial Library, starting February each year. Meetings go from 10:30-11:30 am, though members are encouraged to keep the discussion going after the fact. Selections for the upcoming book will be available one month in advance at Bill Memorial Library for convenience, though readers wishing to get an earlier start can request the book sooner by speaking to a member of staff.
What is speculative fiction? It's an umbrella term that encompasses many different genres: science fiction and fantasy, of course, but also horror, superheroes, dystopian stories and alternate histories. Something Else Entirely aims to hit a variety of moods and pacings based on member input each year, as well as hitting both contemporary speculative fiction as well as some of the classics.

There's no better time to talk about the paranormal than right before Halloween! Join us at Bill Memorial Library on Tuesday, October 22, at 6:30 pm for a presentation by Traci Boiselle, lead investigator and case manager for The Atlantic Paranormal Society, better known as TAPS. Traci, who has 16 years of experience in the field, will share basic theories of the paranormal and will introduce attendees to the TAPS method of investigation. She will also share her first-hand experiences from some of her favorite local investigations and will answer questions.
Founded in 1990, TAPS became famous with its "Ghost Hunters," "Ghost Hunters International" and "Ghost Nation" television programs.
