The library is back to regular Story Time hours! Every Tuesday and Thursday (and one Saturday a month) at 10:30am we'll get together for an hour on the back deck.  When the weather is not so great, we'll head inside (but we'll have to wear masks!).  Storytime is open to all ages 0-6 years old, although ages 2-4 will get the most out of it all.
Listen to stories, sing some songs, get some wiggles out, and take home a fun craft to do later! Bringing a blanket and stuffie friend to sit with is highly encouraged, we do have plenty of seating a the library though!  We just ask that our families spread out for social distancing.
Halloween theme! Wear your Costume!!!

Tuesday, Oct. 26, 4pm (10/5,10/12, 10/19, 10/26, 11/2, 11/9, 11/16, 11/23)
or call 860-928-3475.
Here we go! 8 Weeks of Code coming your way! All kids ages 9-15 are welcome to jump into this Fall's Coding Club here at the library.  This session we will be working with JavaScript, which is different from the past when we've worked strictly with Google/MIT Scratch.  Beginners are welcome, but this course is able to become more challenging for more experienced coders. If your child has a device they can bring, it is usually preferable, but we do have laptops here at the library if you don't.  A laptop, Chromebook, or Tablet are the required types of devices, basically it needs to have Chrome browser on it.

The Club will meet Tuesdays at 4pm Starting in October. Meetings will run for an hour and be held out on our back deck.  If inclimate weather happens, we will move indoors.

Is there a more magical children's series than Harry Potter? Well...maybe...depends on who you ask!

Starting this September, the Library will be hosting "Muggle Mayhem" a monthly Harry Potter Book Club for Kids/Teens ages 8-16. It will be held on the third thursday of each month at 4pm.  We know that a lot of kids read at different paces, so we won't be focusing on one specific book each meeting, but different aspects. That way everyone can join in. Each time we get together, we'll have a topic from the wizarding world while snacking on something magically scrumptious.  There will be crafts, activities, trivia, etc... all the fun stuff! Cosplay (dressing up) for our little gatherings is highly encouraged, but not necessary.

September will be a intro to the HP world and get to know everyone in the group. Discuss the four houses, the Hogwarts castle, what students might do there, etc...

Having read some or all of the series is great, but not necessary. During our first meeting, we'll go over some "rules" about spoilers to make sure no one gives away any of the big secrets in front of the newer fans.  Be prepared for accidental spoilers though!

***Partaking in the snacks is completely optional.  Feel free to let Ms. Heather know about any allergies or concerns.
