The Kokomo-Howard County Public Library offers Growing Readers to help children ages 3 to 5 improve their literacy skills. Each week in April, we’ll have a Growing Readers Story Time To-Go Kit for you to pick up, while supplies last, at any KHCPL location. Each kit includes a storybook, activity pages, and craft. Then, check out our YouTube channel or one of our Facebook pages to hear a story!

The kit includes weather pre-writing, matching and shape recognition activities as well as an emergent reader.

We'll even provide a few extra to snack on between experiments.

Memory Cafe

Are you a caregiver for a person living with dementia? Do you need time for you and/or your loved one to socialize with others who understand what you're going through? Join us for a Memory Café, from 4 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27, at KHCPL South. Registration required. Please wear a mask and social distance.

 

Julie Eads, with Area Five Agency, will speak briefly about the Structured Family Caregiving program, which allows you to get paid for being a caregiver. It also allows you to tap into other resources, such as free meals.

 

We'll also have toys that were popular in the 1950s for you to play with and reminisce. We'll have a snack you can take home.
