Wednesdays from 9:30-11:00 a.m.
Come meet Maggie and Casey and share a book with them! Dogs don’t mind if you stumble or struggle as you read, so reading with a pet or therapy dog can be great practice for struggling readers. It can also help to foster a love of reading for animal lovers. Each family may register for one fifteen minute time slot to read to the dogs per week. Registration is required.

Ready For School!
Thursday, Aug. 1, 10:00 a.m.
Do you have a 3 or 4-year-old starting preschool or kindergarten in the fall? Join former 4k teacher Ms. Bree for a ready for school class where we will practice the basic skills needed to start school! Class will be about an hour long and will include circle time, a read aloud, music, art and playtime at the end to practice those super important social skills! Children MUST be at least 3 years old to attend, and registration is required.  This class is a seven week series that will run on Thursdays from June 13th to August 1st (no class July 4th).  We ask that any children registered for the series be able to attend the majority of the classes. Have younger children also? No problem! Bring them to our children's area to hang out during class, parents are not required to stay in the room during class (but they must stay in the library).

One Butterfly...Thre
Friday, Aug. 2, 10:00 a.m.
Family Event
“I don’t know much, but I know what I know. I gotta go. I gotta go to Mexico!” The little creepy crawly caterpillar in Sam Swope’s book, Gotta Go! Gotta Go! introduces children to the magnificent life cycle and migration of the endangered monarch butterfly. From egg to adult, children follow the journey of the monarch from its summer home in Canada and the United States to its wintering grounds in California and Mexico and back again. Following an interactive telling of this story, participants will take part in hands-on discovery by visiting live monarchs, learning about butterfly culture in these three countries, playing games that transform them into  onarchs, and learning how to support monarchs right in their own neighborhoods.
