Dungeons and Dragons

Join us twice a month for our virtual Dungeons and Dragons campaign for grades 4-7. This campaign is Waterdeep: Dragon Heist. You'll need a Roll20 and DNDBeyond account. Those links will be emailed the day of the program. We play over zoom. Registration is required.

Join the Hudson Library and Historical Soiecty and Outback Ray on Friday, March 29 at 10:00! Children of all ages are able to learn some interesting animal facts and even meet some of these wild animals.

Baby Sign Language
Monday, Apr. 1, 10:00 a.m. (the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at 10:00 a.m.)

Babies can communicate before they learn to speak. Teaching them simple signs along with spoken words can help them to do so. Bring your little one to learn useful signs you can use together during daily life. Classes will be held the third Monday of each month. Please register for each class individually.
 
Bag O’ Books
Monday, Apr. 1, 4:00
Prepare for National Library Week (April 7-13th) by painting your own canvas bag to hold all the books you’ll be checking out! We’ll use acrylic paint and stamps to decorate, so dress to get messy! This program is geared toward children in kindergarten through 5th grade. Children 6 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

Families are welcome, but each child must be registered separately! We cannot guarantee supplies for anyone who is not registered!


 
Bucket Drumming
Monday, Apr. 1, 6:30p.m.
Kids in grades 4-8 are welcome to join us at the library as we welcome the Cleveland School of Rock for a lesson on Bucket Drumming. The School of Rock is sending one of their best instructors, a fellow drummer from the Cavs drum line, to help instruct all of us in drumming - with buckets! Don't miss this special musical opportunity! Registration is required. 
DNA Investigations L
Tuesday, Apr. 2, 4:30 p.m.
Students in grades 3-5 are welcome to join us as we welcome the Great Lakes Science Center for an exciting STEM opportunity. In this hands on lab students will explore how traits express themselves and extract their own DNA! Registration is required.

STEAM Storytime
Friday, Apr. 5, 11:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.
Young children ages 2-5 and their caregivers are invited to join us at the library for STEAM Storytime! Each month, we will enjoy stories, songs, play, and a craft as we explore a new topic related to STEAM: science, technology, engineering, art, or math. We hope to inspire our future scientists, inventors, artists, and leaders … and have fun, too!

Choose a session to attend, either 11 a.m. or 2 p.m. Registration is required for each child attending, and registration will be separate each month. Caregivers must attend this program with their children. 
STEAM Storytime
Friday, Apr. 5, 2:00 p.m. - 2:45 p.m.
Young children ages 2-5 and their caregivers are invited to join us at the library for STEAM Storytime! Saturday Movie Matin
Saturday, Apr. 6, 10:00 a.m.
Families are welcome to join us on Saturday April, 6 for an out of this world movie, Wall-E! Doors will open at 10:00 and the movie starts at 10:30. Come and enjoy snacks and a cute movie about a robots who help planet Earth! 

Registration is required for this event. Please register once per person.

DIY Mini Terrariums
Saturday, Apr. 6, 2:00 p.m.

Families are welcome to join us on Saturday, April 6 at 2:00 to make their own Terrariums! Materials will be provided, but you can also bring more materials for your mini terrarium.

Eclipse Open House
Sunday, Apr. 7, 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Celebrate the upcoming solar eclipse at our children’s Eclipse Open House! We will have crafts and activities in the Children’s Room from 2 – 4 pm. on Sunday, April 7. What is a solar eclipse? What happens in the sky? Why is this eclipse important? Kids will get answers to these questions and more as they move through the stations at this fun and educational open house event. Please register.
Coding Club K-5
Tuesday, Apr. 9, 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. (Tuesdays, January 16, February 12, March 13, April 9, & May 14)
Good News Everyone! 
We’re launching our very own coding club with FieroCode! If you want your kid to learn important tech skills and have fun along the way, we’d love to see them there! They’ll work on learning how to make websites, video games, apps, animations, and more!
So kiddos! Come have fun, make friends, and build cool stuff with us!
No coding experience required! 


For students Kindergarten through 5th grade, meets in the computer lab on the second floor. Space is limited.

Evening Family Story
Wednesday, Apr. 10, 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Families are invited to join us at the library for Evening Family Storytime! We will share stories and rhymes before bedtime. Jammies and stuffies are encouraged but not required! Geared toward children ages 2-6, but all are welcome. This storytime will be on select Wednesday evenings of the month in the Storytime Room, January through April. Join us as often as you like. No registration is required.

Friday, Apr. 12, 9:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.

Kindermusik is the leading music and movement program for children in early childhood development. We offer three sessions in-person at the library, all with a licensed Kindermusik teacher: ages 0-2 (with a caregiver) at 9:30 and 10:30, and ages 3-5 (on their own, without a caregiver) at 11:30. Registration is required. Please register each child (no adult registration needed). Caregivers must attend this program with their children.

Minecraft Club
Saturday, Apr. 13, 2:00 p.m.
Come mine and craft with us on our multiplayer minecraft server! No prior knowledge or account necessary. This program takes place on the second floor computer lab. Grades 2-5.
Tail Waggin Tutors
Sunday, Apr. 14, 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
First page: Kids are invited to visit the library and practice their reading skills with a real dog! All dogs are certified therapy dogs, and they enjoy all types of children’s books! The program is one hour, with 15-minute time slots for each family. We will meet in the children’s department, and you will sign up for a time slot when you arrive. Registration is required once per family.
