Families are invited to come to the Winfield Branch and get ready for the solar eclipse! Drop in for crafts, games, and science activities that will prepare you for this upcoming phenomenon. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Registration encouraged but not required.

Have you downloaded Cricut Design Space on your Laptop or IPad but it seems really complicated? We can help you learn the lingo and how to use not only the Design Space but the machine and it's tools. We will demonstrate the basics of Cricut usage. Bring your IPAD/Laptop with Cricut Design Space downloaded on it. You can follow along or just watch while we show you the tools, basic buttons, and how to use premade craft designs. Let us open the doors for you to make awesome handmade crafts!

This month teens will be making resin jewelry or light up lamps. Make earrings, rings, bracelets or solid spheres by pouring resin over pressed flowers, pictures, tiny statues, butterfly wings, and other things. We will provide the space and crafting supplies you just bring your friends and creativity. This program is intended for teens.

Join other paper crafters to make several projects each month. Learn new techniques and enjoy the company of other crafters! Please bring adhesives, such as tape runner, glue dots, and liquid glue. The morning and afternoon sessions are the same. Registration is required, and a supply fee of $7 is payable to the instructor at the time of class. This program is intended for adults.

Want to make your own handcrafted book? In this program series the library will teach you how. Come to the Winfield Branch Library book making programs in order and build your book from the inside pages to the cover, or pick and choose the programs you would like to visit to build your book at home. Try your hand at different printmaking techniques, practice the art of japanese marbling, and bind your very own book from recycled old books. After each class you will leave with new knowledge that you can DIY with at your leisure. This Tuesday try four printmaking styles: intaglio, screen printing, relief, and lithography. Visit the library and make with us!

This is the second program in our book making series. Visit us Saturday morning and create your own marbled paper. This paper will be used to help bind your printed pages to your book cover. Stop by and learn about the ancient Japanese art of Suminagashi and be two steps closer to your completed handmade book.

This is the final program in our book making series. Stop in at the Winfield Branch Library on Tuesday night and we will show you how to put a cover on your book. Bring your projects from the last two classes and we will put them together to finish your book. Do not be worried if you missed the other programs, we will have everything you need to take home a completed book that night.
