Tweens ages 9-12 join us and learn how to paint with tissue paper.  First come, first served as space and supplies are limited.

Ideal for Grades 6-12. "Paint" a famous masterpeice with numbered stickers or create your own acrylic painting on a mini canvas  in honor of World Art Day. All materials supplied. 
Tutoring of Elementa

The MH Youth Advisory Commission has gathered Mountain House High School teens, who have been approved to be tutors, together to help local elementary students improve their skills in educational subjects.  If your child is having trouble with math, science, English or other subjects please take advantage of this free tutoring on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00-7:00pm here at the Mountain House Library.  If you are a teen who would like to help contact the YAC at the MHCSD. Sponsored by MHCSD Youth Advisory Commission Program.

Math and Homework Wo

For K-12. Adults welcome. Complete fun math problems/puzzles, learn math tricks and shortcuts that may help students with their schoolwork, and get help with your school work or other specific topics you would like to go over. Each Sunday from 2:00 - 4:30pm.

The Chavez MakerSpace room will be open every Tuesday & Wednesday from 2 to 5 PM. If you haven't been to the MakerSpace room before, it is located on the 2nd floor of the Cesar Chavez Central Library. 

Come explore various tech equipment like 3D printers (MakerBot Replicator)virtual reality headset and gear (Oculus Rift), electronic cutting machine (Cricut), the carving machine (The Carvey), electric sewing machines, laminator & photo printer. 

What is the MakerSpace?
The Makerspace is the place where people can gather to learn, create and make 3D objects, craft projects, or anything that their creative mind desires. 

What is a 3D printer?
A 3D printer can print three dimensional objects from a digital file. A 3D printed object is created using additive processes, in which tiny layers of the object are built from the bottom up. 
You can download most 3D object models for free from thingiverse.com website, or you can download the free version of the graphic design software program called TinkerCad and create your own 3D objects.

What is a Virtual Reality (VR)?
Virtual reality is an artificial environment that is created with software and presented to the user in such a way that the user suspends belief and accepts it as a real environment.
The Oculus Rift is a virtual reality system that completely immerses users inside virtual worlds and allows them to experience anything, anywhere, through the power of virtual reality. On a computer, virtual reality is primarily experienced through two of the five senses: sight and sound. It is developed and manufactured by Oculus VR, a division of Facebook Inc., released on March 28, 2016.

What is the Cricut?
The Cricut is a name-brand ultimate smart cutting machine. With its expandable suite of tools and advanced Rotary and Knife blades, Cricut gives you the freedom to make virtually any DIY project. It cuts hundreds of materials, from the most delicate fabric and paper to matboard and leather.

What is the Carvey?
Carvey is a 3D carving machine that allows you to make quality objects out of a variety of materials including wood, metal and plastic. 
Teen Paint Hour
Tuesday, Apr. 23, 4 pm
Teens will be creating a spongebob themed painting on wood or canvas. This program is for ages 13-18 years old.

The Cesar Chavez Central Library offers Sewing Basics class for TEENS and ADULTS every 4th Tuesdays from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. in the MakerSpace room on the 2nd floor. In this workshop, you will learn the basics of sewing, including operating a sewing machine, threading a bobbin,and sewing a straight seam. Anyone age 13 or older, who also has little or no experience with using a sewing machine, is invited to attend the class. Equipment and supplies will be provided. Sign up is NOT required. However, space is limited to 4 patrons per class. This FREE program is sponsored by the Friends of the Stockton Public Library.

A FREE public parking lot is located across from the library at the corner of Center and Oak Street.

Ideal for Ages 10-18. Drop-in and try your hand at a variety of STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Arts and Math) activities.
Teen Advisory Board
Wednesday, Apr. 24, 4:30-5:30 pm
This volunteer program provides teens in grades 7-12 with opportunities to practice leadership and life skills while promoting greater civic engagement. Teens can openly identify, discuss, and advocate for youth-related needs in our community while earning community service hours and experience with a variety of different tasks that may include:

-Discuss & plan teen special events
-Talk about book trends and make recommendations to purchase
-Assist with Children's Department, preparing crafts, cleaning toys, etc. 
-Special projects that the Librarian may need assistance with
 
Anime Club: Shrinky
Thursday, Apr. 25, 4 PM
Do you like anime? Then join us for Anime Club! We will be making Shrinky Dink charms as we watch our favorite animes. Snacks will be provided. This program is for teens and up.
