Saturday, Apr. 20, 10 am - 1 pm
Join us for Día de los niños, día de los libros, or Children's Book Day! Celebrate children, reading, and our multicultural community. Join us at 10 am in the auditorium for our special early math-themed Bilingual Story Time featuring the book Rafa Counts on Papá by Joe Cepeda. Stop by the outside portico to visit with local community partners, pick up a free book, and create a craft while supplies last!

Kids can create journals to house their stickers using cardstock and wax paper. Stickers will be provided to kick off their collection! Geared for children under 8; children under 4 must have direct supervision from parents or adult guardians.

Join us for some calming watercolor fun! Little ones can practice their motor skills by painting wavy lines and then straight lines in between, but try not to let the lines touch! This activity is geared for children under 8; children under 4 must have direct adult supervision.

Independent readers up to age 12 are invited to practice their reading skills with the special Read to a Dog program at the Modesto Library. This program is designed to help children gain confidence in their reading skills by reading aloud to certified therapy dogs. Sign-ups start on April 29, 2024. Register in person at the Modesto Library Children's Desk or call 209-558-7810. Space is limited.

All ages are welcome to participate in the party and the reading challenge. Children ages 0-17 who register for the challenge will receive a free book to get started on their reading!
