This art club session will mark Miss Megan’s last children’s program (excluding homeschool class)!
This session of art club is limited to 18 children (ages 7 and up), so register each child separately! Younger siblings can participate as supplies allow.
Each Monday, starting March 24, registered children will work on creating a painting just like the one pictured. Since each session builds on the last, it is important to commit to attending each Monday. The session will tentatively wrap up on Monday, April 28.
Homeschool Class is back in session! This year classes will be aimed at grades 1-3, but other grades can join.
March will focus on dissection while in April students will develop their own micro-nations.
Storytime is perfect for preschoolers! Enjoy stories and play while learning the alphabet, signs in American Sign Language and some Spanish.
SPL’s adult book club will read “The Woman They Could Not Silence” by Kate Moore.
Braving the confines of an oppressive mental asylum, Elizabeth Packard defied all odds as she fought for her freedom and the rights of countless other women confined against their will. With relentless determination, she became a voice that resonated across the nation, igniting a movement for change.
The discussion occurs at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 27, in the downstairs meeting room.
Copies of the novel are available at the Syracuse Public Library. A digital e-book and audiobook may be available on the Libby app. The e-book is also on Hoopla.
For information or to recommend a future book club pick, email Hanna at hkunkel@syracuse.lib.in.us.
The group is open to teens, young adults, and new adults.
Unwind with cartoons and coloring book pages from 4-5 p.m. on the fourth Friday of each month, starting on Jan. 24, in the Rosalyn Jones Room. It's the perfect way to start the weekend!
Weird History Club is moving to 3 p.m. on the last Monday of each month, starting on Monday, Feb. 24, in the downstairs meeting room.
For February, we’ll lean into the frigid cold with tales of polar exploration. From Franklin to Shackleton to a Soviet doctor who performed his own surgery, we’ll look at tales of struggle, loss, and survival in two of the world’s most unforgiving environments: the North and South Poles.
March's topic will be "Weird" and Wonderful Women while April's topic will be Tulip Mania!
