Are you looking for ways to reduce stress and gain better health? Instructor Jessica Williamson will host a workshop on Mindfulness. This workshop will introduce participants to mindfulness practices in a caring and supportive environment. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring an open heart and mind.  For ages 18 and up; limit: 15.

Kim Larkin of Klassic Kreations will host a presentation on delicious treats from the Emerald Isle! A cheerful program celebrating Ireland, Irish chocolate pioneers, Celtic lore, Irish poetry, The Book of Kell’s artistry, famous Irish authors and the history of the Claddagh. Samplings include Irish tea, Irish bread, Irish Claddagh chocolates with lovely

display photos of castles, vintage photos, fairy art.

Visible Mending with
Saturday, Mar. 30, 11:00 am

Darning is the technique of mending a hole in cloth with a needle and thread alone. The

process incorporates basic stitching and weaving to create beautiful, functional

repairs. With a visible mending approach, participants will learn the basics on a provided

fabric sample, incorporating embroidery stitches, weaving patterns, and color theory

along the way. Everyone will go home with a completed sample and a

small kit to continue their mending at home.

Woodturning with the
Saturday, Apr. 6, 10:00 am

Learn about the art of woodturning! Members from the Eastern Connecticut Wood Turners will be at the Library to help participants “turn” a beautiful pen out of wood!  Slots for up to 3 people will be available on a half-hour basis between 10:00 am to 2:00 pm: participants will need to register for a particular slot.  For ages 10 and up (youth will need an adult to participate).
