A box of bookish surprises for teens enrolled in grades 9-12! Each month will feature a different theme and contain books and treats for you to enjoy. Register online to receive a Teen Book Box, and pick it up from the Children's Room starting on the 1st of each month. October's theme is Spooky Season!

Join us for some tabletop questing! Create your character and get ready to embark on the adventure of a lifetime! The librarian will be your dungeon master and guide your ragtag team through whatever the campaign throws at you. Choose to join on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays; each group will play through the same campaign and meet with the same players throughout the fall session. Only for the most intrepid explorers in grades 5-10!

Middle School Makers
Monday, Oct. 2, 7:00 p.m.
A club for middle schoolers in grades 6-8 who are interested in science, technology, engineering, art and math. Join us every Monday for a different art project, craft, science experiment or activity. This Monday, attendees will put their trivia knowledge to the test in a game of jeopardy!

Gotta Draw ’em
Wednesday, Oct. 4, 6:00 PM

Pokémon enthusiasts and artists alike are invited to join us for a Pokémon drawing program. Learn step-by-step how to draw Pokémon from different regions and generations and create a collection of your Poké Art! For children in grades 1-8. Gotta Draw ‘Em All will meet on the following Wednesdays: 9/6, 10/4, & 11/1.
Registration is required and begins on week in advance of each meeting. Space is limited.

The Friends of Kent Free Library will hold their Fall Book Sale October 5 - 8.  For sale will be books, DVDs, Music CDs, and more for adults and childrens.  The sale will be held in the library's basement.

Sale hours are:
  • Thursday, October 5 from 5 - 8 pm, which is a Preview Sale for Friends Members.  Memberships may be purchased at the door for $5 for Individuals, $3 for Seniors and Students, $10 for Families, and $50 for Businesses and Organizations.
  • Friday, October 6 from 10 -  4
  • Saturday, October 7 from 10 - 4
  • Sunday, October 8 from 1:30 - 4:30, which is Donation Day--all the items you wish to take for a monetary donation.
Prices are $1 for adult books, $.50 for paperbacks, $.50 for children's, and $1 for DVDs and music CDs, $1.  Items have been withdrawn from the library's collection and donated by community members.

Payment is cash or check only.  No credit cards.  All proceeds go to the Friends of KFL to support library programs and services.

Pokémon Club
Friday, Oct. 6, 4:00 p.m.

Whether you like to battle, trade, or just discuss all things Pokémon, this club is for you! Bring your cards and decks and join us for an hour of poke-tastic fun! For grades preK - 8. Registration is required for each meeting. Registration begins one week in advance of each meeting.

Concert Series: Hip
Sunday, Oct. 8, 2:00 pm
Hip to That is a Cleveland-based jazz group that specializes in jazz standards and pop tunes with a jazzy twist. Enjoy experiencing the Trio's energy, hip arrangements, and humor on the Library's second floor balcony. No registration required. All ages are welcome.
