17th Annual Youth Ph
Thursday, Jun. 13
Get ready Shutterbugs! Students entering grades 5-8 are invited to take pictures of their favorite things, people and places, and submit the photos via email to Leah Berger: leah.berger@kentfreelibrary.org by Monday, July 8. Each photographer may submit two entries.

Please include the following information in the email along with your photograph: Student’s Name, Parent/Guardian’s Name, Grade Entering, Phone Number, and Title of Photograph.

Photos will be on display in the children’s room from July 15 through July 28 for the public to view and vote for their favorite. The top three photographers will receive Target gift cards. Librarians will notify winners by August 5, 2024.
Teen Book Boxes
Thursday, Jun. 13
A box of bookish surprises for teens enrolled in grades 9-12! Each month will feature a different theme and contain books and treats for you to enjoy. Register online to receive a Teen Book Box, and pick it up from the Children's Room starting on the 1st of each month. June's theme is Outdoor Adventure! Boxes will include an adventure book and supplies to paint rocks as well as an outdoor scavenger hunt.

Register online to receive a Middle Grade Book Box, and pick it up from the Children's Room starting on the 1st of each month. June's theme is Outdoor Adventure! Boxes will include an adventure book and supplies to paint rocks as well as an outdoor scavenger hunt.
Summer Lunch at the
Thursday, Jun. 13, 1 to 2 p.m.
In partnership with the Community Action Council of Portage County KFL will be offering lunch during the summer! Children ages 18 and younger may visit the library Monday through Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. for a free lunch. Lunches will be available in the cafe space on the first floor of the library. The Summer Lunch program runs from the week of June 3 through August 9. No meals will be served on July 4 due to library closure. Registration is not required for this program. 
Dungeons & Dragons E

Join us for some tabletop questing! Create your character and get ready to embark on the adventure of a lifetime! The librarian will be your dungeon master and guide your ragtag team through whatever the campaign throws at you. Choose to join on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays; each group will play through the same campaign and meet with the same players throughout the summer session. Only for the most intrepid explorers entering grades 5-10!

Concert Series: The
Sunday, Jun. 16, 2:00 pm
Multi-instrumentalists with beautiful singing voices, the Rhondas, an Americana trio, will be playing on the second floor balcony of the Kent free Library. Enjoy experiencing the charismatic stage presence of Jen Maurer, Sarah Rolan, and Leigh Ann Wise. No registration is required. All ages are welcome.

The Concert Series is generously supported by Friends of Kent Free Library.
