Join us for upcoming events at Kent Free Library. All events are free and open to the public. Registration is required where noted.

Youth Photo Contest
Monday, May 30
Students entering grades 5-8 are invited to take pictures of their favorite things, people and places, and submit the photos via email to Leah Berger: leah.berger@kentfreelibrary.org by Monday, July 11. Each photographer may submit two entries. please include the following information in the email along with your photograph: Student's Name, Parent/Guardian's Name, Grade Entering, Phone Number, and Title of Photograph. 
Photos will be on display in the children's room from July 15 through July 29 for the public to view and vote on their favorite. The top three photographers will receive Target gift cards. Librarians will notify winners by August 1, 2022. 
Stitch and Binge
Tuesday, May 31, 4:00 p.m.
Beginners and experienced cross stitchers entering grades 3 through 8 to join us to stitch backpack charms as we watch cartoons! Cross stitching is a fun and easy craft-if you've never tried it before, you'll love it! The library will provide everything you need, including a librarian's instruction, to make a project you can take home at the end of the session. 
Teen Book Box Subscr
Wednesday, Jun. 1, 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Teens entering grades 9-12 are invited to register for a summer subscription of Book Boxes! By reigstering, you'll receive a Book Box in June, July and August. Your Book Box will include library books for you to enjoy and return, and themed goodies for you to keep. Book Box pick up will be in the Children's Room beginning on the first of each month. 
Dungeons and Dragons
Wednesday, Jun. 1, 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Youth entering grades 5 through 9 are invited to join us for tabletop questing! Create or choose your character and get ready to embark on the adventure of a lifetime! The librarian will be your dungeon master and guide your ragtag team through whatever the campaign throws at you. Join in person or online through Zoom. 
Builders Club
Thursday, Jun. 2, 4:00 p.m.
Preschoolers through 8th graders are invited to join us for creatuve construction featuring different types of building toys-Legos, Duplos, K'Nex, Lincoln Logs, Tinker Toys, and more! Participants can bring their own materials or use the ones available at the library. 
Pokémon Club
Friday, Jun. 3, 4:00 p.m.
Whether you like to battle, trade, or just discuss all things Pokémon, this club is for you! Bring your cards and decks and join us fro an hour of poke-tastic fun! This program is for children in preschool through 8th grade. Registration is required for each meeting and begins one week in advance of each program.

Families (of up to 10 people) with children entering grades 3 and up are invited to book our exciting Titanic Escape Room. work together to solve the mysteries that will help you escape the doomed ship. Titanic Escape Room Adventure will be available to book on Mondays. Please only book one Monday for your group. 
Teen Paint Along: Je
Monday, Jun. 6, 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Students entering grades 6 through 12 are invited to create their own jellyfish painting. Supplies and instruction provided.

Students entering grades 9 through 12 are invited to celebrate LGBTQIA+ Pride month with music, rainbow cookies and a craft! Bring your friends, wear your rainbow attire, and make a rainbow pin to take home!
Concert Series: Mick
Sunday, Jun. 12, 2:00 pm
Listen to rootsy, blues-based local singer and songwriter, Mick Rogers, perform original pieces on guitar and mandolin. Rogers will feature songs from his ten CDs that tell stories of interesting characters and experiences growing up in Northeast Ohio.  All ages welcome.  No registration required.
