Board Game Club

Enjoy playing board games the first Sunday of each month from 1:30 - 4:30 in the library's 2nd floor meeting room.  Bring a friend or make some new ones!

Meets the 2nd Thursday of the month at 11:00 am to discuss popular fiction books.

Mocktails and Master
Thursday, Aug. 8, 6:30 pm
Use acrylic paint pouring techniques to create a spray of mesmerizing flowers. Registration is required and begins Thursday, August 1 at 9 am. For adults 18+.

This is a repeat of July's program.  If you registered for the program in July, you may not register for August regardless of whether you attended.  If you were on the waiting list in July and did not get a spot, you can register for August.
Donation Day
Saturday, Aug. 10, 10 am - 2 pm
Conveniently donate books, dvds, and music cds to the Friends of Kent Free Library for our upcoming booksale from the comfort of your car. Friends will meet you curbside to accept your donations.

Acceptable items include:

Popular fiction in hardback and paperback
New non-fiction (generally published within the last 2-3 years)
Children’s books
DVDs, CDs, and unabridged audiobooks on CD
Local history items related to Kent

Items Not Accepted for Donation
The library will refuse to accept the following donated items as they are not suitable for the library’s circulating collection and are unable to be sold at a book sale:

Items in poor physical condition. This includes items that are yellowed, dirty, torn, missing pages or cover, brittle pages, mildewed or otherwise hazardous to someone’s health, excessive highlighting or handwriting, and scratched or worn audiovisual items.
Textbooks
Mail order catalogs
agazines (except Craft, Gardening, Cooking or Hobby subjects from the current year)
Encyclopedias, full or partial sets
Medical/Health books more than 5 years old
Condensed/Abridged books, including Reader’s Digest
Cassettes (audio or video)

Donation receipts will be available.

Monday, Aug. 12, 7:00 pm
Music Izz Groovy will be leading an Outdoor Drum Circle/Relaxation program at Al Lease Park. The instructor is a Board-Certified Music Therapist who will lead the class through music creation with musical instruments to create a collective emotional release. Registration is required and begins Monday, August 5 at 9:00 am. For adults 18+.

The rain location will be in the library's 2nd floor meeting room.

Fiction To Film Book

Meets the 4th Monday of each month from 7:00-8:00pm to explore books that have led to or were adapted from movies.
