Mission to the Moon:

Celebrate International Observe the Moon Night with a special hands-on program presented by the Society of Women Engineers! In this program, you’ll design and build a shock-absorbing system that will protect two “astronauts” when they land. Follow the engineering design process to: (1) design and build a shock-absorbing system out of paper, straws, and mini-marshmallows; (2) attach your shock absorber to a cardboard platform; and (3) improve your design based on test results. Recommended for ages 8 and up. Please register.

Creative tweens and teens are invited to join us every Monday to hang out with friends and make something awesome. Bring a project you’re working on, or tackle the projects we have available. Open to ages 10 and up. No registration required.

Stop by the library right after school to explore the world of energy with the help of EnergizeCT’s interactive mobile exhibit! Discover where electricity comes from, generate your own power, learn how to make energy efficient choices, and more. Held outside in and around the mobile trailer. Enjoy a well-rounded single-session game with storyline, problem solving, and challenges, plus battling monsters. All supplies provided, but you will need a level 5 character. Jessica's Garden will be donating a portion of the sales made from 4 - 7 pm both in person and online to the Richmond Memorial Library! Money raised from this fundraiser will be combined with a donation already made to the library by the MOMS Club to help the library purchase new picnic tables in the spring.
