Everybody is reading Black River by S.M. Hulse in anticipation of regional author visits in early November. Join Becky Ewing on Fridays, beginning September 8 for a six week women's interactive study and exploration of the seven I AM statements of Jesus from noon to 1 p.m. at the Colfax Library. Each week, the class will discuss certain chapters from Lysa TerKeurst's, "Finding I AM." Everyone's welcome to join in the lively discussion.

Rising Stars Dance C

Children's dance classes through Rising Stars Dance Studios are available at the Colfax Library Center on Fridays from 4:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. Classes are geared towards children 2 years and older and introduces them to a variety of genres including ballet, tap, tumble and jazz.
Schedule begins Friday, September 8, 2017. Level placements are required.
4:30 to 5 p.m.  - Colfax Pre Dance (Ballet, Tap, Jazz & Tumble) - Ages 2-4
5 to 5:45 p.m. - Colfax Dance Level 1 ( Ballet, Tap, Jazz & Tumble) - Ages 5-6
5:45 to 6:45 p.m. - Colfax Dance Level 2 ( Tap, Jazz & Tumble) - Placement
6:15 to 7:15 p.m. - Colfax Dance Level 3 ( Tap, Jazz & Tumble) - Placement

Keri Oldroyd has operated Rising Stars Dance Studio since 2007, teaching hundreds of students over the years. Her students participate in the end of the year recital* and perform in the Lentil Festival or during University sporting events.

What is an Ozobot?  Ozobots are tiny line following robots programmed by color, draw code on paper or command robot digitally with Ozobot Apps.  Kids grade 2 and up are invited to explore robotics at this fun STEM program on Friday, September 22 at 3:30 pm. In today’s increasingly networked world, how can we keep ourselves and our information safe and secure? On Friday, September 22, Mike J. McCully answers those concerns in a presentation titled “Cybersecurity Essentials for Work and Home” at 6 p.m. at the Endicott Library.

During the presentation, McCully will provide practical advice that everyone should know including identity theft and phishing defenses, preventing Malware, common Web attacks, safely browsing the Internet, making secure purchases, recognizing an exploited computer, securing social media, hacking yourself first and more.

McCully is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CIP) and Information Systems Security Officer at National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA.)
