Fit & Fun Exercise,
Colfax Branch Library
Wednesday, Jun. 27, 10 - 11 a.m.
Join Fit and Fun, gentle exercise for adults and seniors on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10-11 a.m. in the Center in Colfax (adjacent to the library). Enjoy a gentle warm-up, low impact aerobic workout, and a soothing cool down. Cost is $5 per class but instructor Nancy Stanard invites you to try your first class for free. Open Lab @ the TEK C

Discover, create, and tinker during Open Lab @ the TEK Center.  Kids 1st grade and up are invited to drop-in from 10-11 to explore robotics, engineering and more with our Ozobots, Snap Circuits, and Lego EVO Robotics kits.

Kids who completed grades 4, 5, 6  meet daily for two weeks to discuss lifeskills, healthy choices, and how to overcome adversity.  Workshops meet daily for two week starting June 18 from 11 a.m. tonoon at the Tekoa Library.  Kids will be fed lunch and given a pool pass each day. Music of Nature, St.

Join us after VBS.  The natural world is full of music from a bird's song to rushing water to a thunder clap. Our third Summer Reading program focuses on hearing and creating nature's sounds.  
Children that have completed their summer reading commitment will be awarded a meal certificate from the Rialto.

Summer dance classes through Rising Stars Dance Studio are available at the Center (adjacent to the Colfax Library). We know that summer schedules can be busy, so this summer you can create your own dance schedule. Attend one camp to guarantee a placement for the Fall of 2018 or attend additional camps for potential advancement opportunities!
Early Bird Summer Registration fee $10, waived when submitted by May 18, 2018.
$10 registration fee due upon registration after May 18, 2018.
Rising Stars Dance Studio is owned and directed by Instructor Keri Oldroyd.

Tribal Battles of 18
Colfax Branch Library

The Tribal Battles of 1858 by Richard Schueurman comes to The Center at Colfax Library on Weds, June 27 at 7 p.m.  This presentation is provided as part of a monthlong exhibit by Nona Hengen and two films that rotating continuously.
Historian Richard Scheuerman is a Palouse Country native who was raised on a farm between the communities of Endicott and St. John. He has twice been named a Washington Governor’s Author and was recipient of the 2000 State Excellence in Education Award. After a forty-year career in education, he and his wife, Lois, retired to Richland, Washington, where he has recently completed a three-volume work on agrarian themes in art and literature. His book
Finding Chief Kamiakin (WSU Press, 2008) is based on extensive interviews with Columbia Plateau tribal elders and original sources related to the military campaigns of Edward Steptoe and George Wright.
