Gondra’s TreasureJoin us on Thursday, March 28 at 7 p.m. when Newbery Medalist Linda Sue Park spotlights her newest picture book, Gondra's Treasure. In the book, aimed at readers ages 4-8, Park tackles the issue of mixed-race identity through the story of Gondra, a young dragon whose mother is from the West and whose father is from the East, and who wonders exactly where she fits in. In its review, Kirkus said: "While it's not a profound look at mixed-race identity, it is a playful one, and readers will enjoy the cultural examination of dragons." Politics & Prose will be selling copies of Park's book, but our program is free and no purchase is required to attend.
