The Clinton County Archive Project is the result of a partnership between the Clinton County Courthouse and the Frankfort Community Public Library. Loose leaf papers from court files are being indexed by library volunteers on an on-going basis. The earliest documents date from 1828, which pre-dates the formation of the county in 1830. The index can be searched below. It is not necessary to fill in all the search fields.

Documents can be viewed in person in the genealogy area of the Frankfort Community Library. Requests for copies of the court files should be made in person or by e-mailing genealogy staff. When requesting copies of documents, the following information should be included in the request: the first, middle, and last name on the file folder; record type; box number; and file number.
