Teen Summer Reading Challenge
Welcome to the Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library online Summer reading program!
This summer, we are challenging you to set your own reading goal!
This is the Reading Challenge for Teens in rising grade 6th-12th. For Children and Adult Reading Challenge please visit the library's homepage!
It’s Summer, it’s Virtual and it’s Fun!
Summer may be a little different this year but we still have lots of summer fun happening @ the library! The Teen Summer Reading Program is about fun and activities for all teens. We will have weekly craft bags that will be independently done or sometimes with the virtual option through ZOOM. We have kicked off our new virtual new Teen Talk Book Club that meets each month plus you can earn 15 Virtual Summer Badges by completing challenges. Science, Art, Cooking, Reading, Sports, Theater, Engineering, Movie just tt name a few. There is even a Escape Room badge! How cool is that? Each time you participate in an activity or log reading a book, ebook or audio book you are automatically entered to win one of our summer prizes. We will randomly draw winners from June to July 31st.
Do you need volunteer hours for the summer?
No problem, we have that covered too! Be a part of our Teen Review Crew or Letters to Pete the Cat and earn volunteer hours from the comfort of your Chromebook!
