]]>The Tuesday Night book club will discuss Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert A. Heinlein this month at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room on the second floor of the library.

Stranger in a Strange Land was chosen because it fits in with the theme of the Summer Reading Program for Grown-Ups - Groundbreaking Books. In 1962, it was awarded the Hugo Award for Best Novel, and in 2012 it was chosen by the Library of Congress as one fo the 88 "Books That Shaped America."

Valentine Michael Smith was born and raised on Mars by Martians after the entire scientific crew (and his parents) died. Earth retrieves him after almost twenty years. Everything on this new world is new and unfamiliar to him. What he brings from Mars is just a strange to the people of Earth as well.. Conflict and change abound.
