				<title>WANTED: HISTORY BUFFS AND FUN-LOVERS TO COMPETE IN NIGHT AT THE LIBRARY COMMUNITY TREASURE HUNT</title>

				<description><![CDATA[Looking for all would-be explorers, adventurers, promising Indiana Jones-types, and Nicholas Cage wannabes.<br />  &nbsp;<br />  The Night at the Library Community Treasure Hunt hosted by the Maury County Public Library will be held on Saturday, October 22 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.&nbsp; This one-of-a-kind event will take participating scavenger hunt teams on a whirlwind tour of local museums, United States history, and literary adventures.&nbsp;<br />  &nbsp;<br />  Home base for the scavenger hunt will be the Maury County Public Library.&nbsp; Teams of up to 4 participants will start their adventure at the library, where they will receive a treasure hunt map along with a scavenger hunt list of questions and activities.&nbsp; At 6:30 p.m., explorers will venture out to sites within walking distance of the library.&nbsp; Participating sites include the James K. Polk Home, Amuse&rsquo;um Children&rsquo;s Museum, and The Castle.&nbsp; Along their adventure, participants will encounter various historical and literary figures, including Abraham Lincoln and Dragging Canoe (Cherokee warrior).&nbsp; &nbsp;&ldquo;We are very proud to have such an outstanding group of historical interpreters participate in this event,&rdquo; explains event coordinator, Derek Cameron.&nbsp; &ldquo;There&rsquo;s a little bit of everything and everyone in this event; costumed performers will represent the Colonial era, the Regency Era and Jane Austen, all the way through the Civil War and beyond.&rdquo;<br />  &nbsp;<br />  &ldquo;Participating teams can expect to have a lot of fun with this event!&nbsp; They will be asked to find the answers to clues, locate artifacts, sing historical songs, and perhaps even create their own works of art.&nbsp; It&rsquo;s an event for the whole family that will test the wits and historical and literary knowledge of participating teams&rdquo; explains event co-coordinator and Children&rsquo;s Librarian, Mecca Caron.&nbsp; &ldquo;Due to funding through a grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission and a great group of community sponsors including Maury Regional Medical Center, Parks Motors, Inc., Holland&rsquo;s Pharmacy, M&amp;M Automotive, The Print Stop, Expert Tire, and Westbury House on the Square, we will be offering more than $300 in cash and prizes to the top three teams completing the treasure hunt.<br />  &nbsp;<br />  The treasure hunt competition is now accepting registrations for teams of up to 4 people.&nbsp; Every team must include at least one adult (21 or over) and all ages are encouraged to participate.&nbsp; Registration forms can be picked-up at the Maury County Public Library located at 211 W. 8<sup>th</sup>Street, Columbia or downloaded from the library&rsquo;s website at <a href="http://www.maurycountylibrary.org">www.maurycountylibrary.org</a>.&nbsp; A pre-registration fee of just $10 per team must be received by Saturday, October 1, 2011.&nbsp; After October 1, registration will be $20 per team.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; For more information, please call the library at 931.375.6507 or email the coordinator at <a href="mailto:mcaron@maurycounty-tn.gov">mcaron@maurycounty-tn.gov</a>.<br />   <P>
