Sweet Strawberry Success!

The Manheim Township Public Library fundraising committee and staff were more than pleased with the response to the recent Chocolate Covered Strawberry Sale. This was the very first year for the fundraiser. The support from patrons and the community helped the library raise $760 through the sale of 152 boxes of fresh chocolate dipped strawberries. The total exceeded the committee's goal of raising $500!

Could this be the next great Lancaster County food fundraiser? It is certainly possible as plans are already underway to continue the fundraiser next year during Valentine's Day.

To help make this fundraiser even more successful, the MTPL fundraising committee would love to hear your feedback, comments and suggestions. Feel free to touch base with us through our Facebook fan page, via this blog or by emailing ldietrich@mtpl.info.

MTPL is proud to debut it's Winter 2011 Art Show which includes over 100 pieces of original artwork from 15 artists, many of whom reside in Lancaster County. The show also features a special exhibit by the PA Watercolor Society Board of Directors located in the Morgan Program Center, lobby and main area.

"This season's show includes a wide range of pieces from mixed media, mosaics and collages," said Lori Dietrich, MTPL Community Relations and Development Manager. "There is also a wonderful mix of affordable artwork. Truly something for every one to enjoy."

All, but one of the pieces, are for sale. The library receives 20% of the proceeds on each piece of artwork sold.
