Library Funding Threatened

Contact Your Assemblyman Today!

A3753 was introduced on February 9, 2009. This bill calls for a mandatory reduction in minimum funding for public libraries to 1/6 mill. Passage of this bill would have a devastating impact on public library service in New Jersey . Contrary to the misleading statement accompanying the legislation there are not MANY municipalities collecting funds in excess of public library needs. In fact, legislation was passed last year which would permit a local library board to return 'excessive' funds to a local municipality. Few have done so. A3753 must be defeated.

All library supporters must speak loudly about this unjustified attack on public library funding.

Please click on the link to locate your NJ assemblymen: http://capwiz.com/ala/nj/home/
