"The Crossroads" by Chris Grabenstein

"Have you ever seen a face hidden in the bark of a tree and known that the man trapped inside wanted to hurt you?" This is the question that starts the chilling story of "The Crossroads." Zach Jennings and his family move to Connecticut. There some mysterious things start happening. They discover that the crossroads that their house s on is haunted by an evil ghost. Will they be able to defeat him?
This book was pretty good. The only problem I had with it was that it was a little too young for me. However, in middle school I probably would have loved this book.

Things in Banesville weren't as they had always been. When Midian Associates comes into town and discovers the Ludlow place the decide to market it. Step 1, move the Ludlow place from Farnsworth Road to Red Road, relocating the many families that have lived there for generations. Step 2, flatten the land.
"Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children" by Ransom Riggs

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children is the saying 'never judge a book by its cover'.

A mysterious Welsh Island, a crazy grandfather, an abandoned run down orphanage, and creepy photographs and an even creepier cover.

You expect this book to be horror, ghost story.

No.

It is a story of time travel, powers, and monsters. After about 3 or 4 chapters, the book loses any creepy factor it had.

It is a good book for what the actual plot is and is easy to read. Although, if you want a horror/ghost story, this book is not for you.
