Join other grandparents with your grandchildren to connect and support one another. Each connection/session offers the opportunity to learn about activities, ideas, and materials offered at the library! Birth to 5 yrs. No registration is required. 
This is a program offered before we open which will allow you to spend time in the children's area in a small group letting the children play, sing, & maybe even dance a bit with Ms. Marni! **No program on the 1st Thursday of the month! 

No Grandparents Connection-June 13th

Join Miss. Missy for storytime with books, rhymes, and fun with friends!  Build your child’s pre-reading skills with this engaging and interactive program designed to support your child’s early literacy development for a lifelong love of reading and learning. Geared for children 3-5 years of age with their caregivers, but all are welcome!.

This award winning program combines music, movement, visual literacy and language development to help children get ready to read! Mother Goose on the Loose is a lap-sit storytime for little ones aged 0-2 and their caregiver.

Come read with therapy dogs at the library!

Reading to dogs has been proven to improve reading ability and build reading confidence. Plus, it's fun! This drop-in event is open to all ages and will take place in the Children's Area by the paperbacks.

Important reminders:
Young children must be monitored by an adult at all times
All participants are expected to be calm and kind while interacting with the dogs
Always ask a handler before petting a dog, and never touch them inappropriately (i.e. poking their eyes)
Please wait your turn if there is already someone with the dog to avoid crowding
Adults, please help to enforce these rules. Thank you! 

Y.E.L.L. (Youth Executive League at the Library) is where 8th to 12th grade students are invited on a drop-in basis every Thursday at 4:00PM to plan, promote, and host library programs and events as well as lend a helping hand towards outreach efforts and community service opportunities. It’s also a great place to make new friends! This program counts towards volunteer hours for school and registration is not required.

Discover different artistic mediums with this free program for teens!
 

This club occurs every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month and is an open-ended exploration of art that welcomes all creative levels and encourages socialization with other art enthusiasts. In addition, each month participants will be presented with an optional prompt they can follow. Projects created from these prompts will have the opportunity to be displayed in the teen section of the library (with the artist's permission).
 

Materials will be provided. No registration required. 
For ages 13 to 18. In order to create a learning environment appropriate for teens, age limits will be enforced.

Moderated by local paranormal and romantic suspense writer Danna Wilberg, the mystery writers panel will consist of distinguished authors Kirk Colvin, Michelle Drier, James Etoile and Sandra Sullivan in conversation about the thrill of mysteries and mystery writing. The authors will discuss their work, writing habits, how they got started, and so much more. Are you a teen with a love of reading, but can never seem to find anyone to talk about books with? Then this new club is for you!

 

Hosted by two teen volunteers from our Youth Executive League at the Library, this group aims to provide a fun and relaxed way to read what you love and make new friends in the process.

 

We'll have a different book to talk about for every meeting, but if you aren't interested in some of the selections, you're free to pick something else and talk about that instead. Plus, we'll have snacks!

 

10 library copies of the "assigned" book will be provided to participants each month. No registration required!
