Finding Family: Dead or Alive
In 1928, a young unmarried woman named Elsie Gabel gave up her newborn baby girl for adoption in pre-Nazi Germany. That baby would eventually come to America and become the mother of Sandy Lanman of East Brunswick. In 1997, Sandy found Elsie's family - including several cousins living in New Jersey. Since then, she has found her mother's paternal family and other long-lost relatives and friends separated by oceans and the currents of history. Her presentation tells how she grew her once-nearly bare family tree and offers tips for researching your family roots.
