What’s Your Story: Leaving a Legacy (a Genealogy Club Event)
Meeting Room

Wednesday, Jul. 10, 6:30 PM
Steve Besserman, founder of AriJoe Productions, will present his short documentary film "Bunnie" (runtime: 23min) and discuss the importance of leaving a legacy by preserving your life story and family history.  No registration required.

About "Bunnie":
"Bunnie" is a documentary about a 101-year-young woman who is a true Jersey girl. Born in West Hoboken (now Union City), she raised a family in North Bergen and settled in later life on Long Beach Island where she lives to this day.

Bunnie endured the depression, was married to a WWII veteran who received the Purple Heart, raised four children, and performed on stage in school and community theater, even performing a mock strip tease act for AARP and church group audiences into her 90s.

From losing her husband to cancer, to the damaging effects of Sandy and through the physical consequences of a broken hip and aging, Bunnie maintains her independence and demonstrates the strength of the human spirit.

Bunnie thought her life story was “nothing special.” But, to her family, capturing her life story meant everything.
