To celebrate National Poetry Month, the Santa Maria Public Library is pleased to announce its participation in "National Poem in Your Pocket Day" on Thursday, April 18, 2019. Please bring a poem of your choosing or a poem supplied by the library staff. If you are beeling brave you can read your own creation. Poem in Your Pocket Day originated in 2002 in New York City. In 2008, the Academy of American Poets took the initiative to all fifty United States, encouraging individuals around the country to participate. Please join library staff in reciting poetry in this community event. If interested please sign up at the Library's Information Desk.
