Learn how to draw a portrait from a photograph.  Using a “grid” system, the instructor will demonstrate how this technique can make drawing a portrait significantly easier and much more lifelike. Learn to use techniques and tools to blend pencil strokes to add a softer tonality to the drawing.

Attendees should bring in a portrait photo they'd like to recreate and a photocopy of the photo for use when drawing the grid (8 x 10 photos preferred).  They will create a portrait based on the photograph they bring to the class.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a pencil and a ruler.  We will have some on hand for those who don't have them.  Blending sticks will be provided for use during the class.

Presented by artist Nick Frasco, instructor at Wethersfield Academy for the Arts.
