Ninth Annual Gingerbread Contest

Create your own house and drop it off at the library between Friday,

December 14 - Monday, December 17 (please note we are closed Sunday).

There will be 2 categories: “Child” (individual child or groups of children under 10) and “Other”, which includes families, groups or any entry for someone over 10.

Entries will be displayed throughout the week of December 17th.

Patrons can vote for their overall favorite from December 17-December 20. Voting can be done in person at the library or online.

Online voting: Visit our website from December 17- December 20 to cast an online vote for Viewer’s Choice Award. Winners will be announced on Friday, December 21st at noon.

Rules:

1. Bring in your creation any time between Friday, December 14th and Monday, December 17th. Please note: we are closed on Sunday.

 

2. All entries must have a card attached to the underside of the base that includes the name, address and phone number of the contestant.  Please also specify category: “Child” (an individual child or groups of children, ages 10 and younger) or “Other”.

 

3. All gingerbread projects will remain on display throughout the week of December 17th. All items may be picked up on Saturday, December 22nd, unless special arrangements have been made.  Any items left behind will be donated or discarded.

 

4. Creations must be constructed primarily of edible materials and icing. Gingerbread kits may be used.

 

5. Bases for the projects must not exceed 24” by 24”. No electricity may be used.

 

6. Spread the word: vote for your favorite gingerbread house.  Library patrons can come in and vote for their favorite gingerbread house between Monday, December 17th and Thursday, December 20th.  Visit the information desk for viewer’s choice ballots.  This year we will also offer online voting through a link on our website.  Online voting will take place from December 17th -20th.
