Grab & Go Grow Somet
Grab & Go Grow Something - All Ages
Pewaukee Public Library

Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2:00 pm
or call 262-691-5670.

Grow a plant from cuttings, and put it in a super cute pot!  After you sign up, you can pick up a bag with some of your more unusual supplies from the library to take home.  Bags will be available starting on Monday, August 10.  Then follow the instructions included in the bag to create your art project, or watch for a video on the library's Facebook page on Wednesday, August 12 at 2:00 pm, where Ms. Sandy will provide a demonstration.  This video will remain available on our Facebook page for you to watch at your leisure.

This program is open to all ages, though 20 slots will be reserved until August 10 for teens entering grades 7-12.  If you are a child or an adult, please sign up here.  If you are a teen, please sign up in the event labeled for teens.  Should this event for teens fill, teens are welcome to sign up here so long as space permits. You must register for this program in advance as supplies are limited, though if you have your own supplies at home you are welcome to watch the video demonstration on Facebook.

NOTE:  Please know that the pothos plants we are using for this activity can be toxic to dogs and cats.  Consumption of this plant is generally not fatal to pets, but can make them very, very sick.  If you have a pet in your house that is likely to chew on your pothos, please be sure to put the plant well out of reach, or consider skipping this activity if you are unable to do so.

Supplies in Your Bag:

  • Cutting from a live golden pothos plant
  • Aquarium gravel
  • Potting soil
  • Label

You Will Also Need:

  • Glass, cup, jar, or some other comparably-sized container (we recommend using something transparent so that you can see the roots from your plant grow)
  • Water
  • Tin can
  • Hammer and nail
  • Supplies for decorating your tin can such as pretty paper, glue or Mod Podge, paint, etc.  (optional)
