In recognition of Holocaust Education Week, Caledon Public Library is honoured to present Mr. Andy Reti. A Budapest Ghetto survivor. Together with his mother and paternal grandparents, Mr. Reti and his remaining family were liberated in January 1945. In October 1956 during the Hungarian Revolution, he and his mother were able to escape and immigrate to Canada and begin a new life. The presentation will focus on the post-Holocaust period, this event (in partnership with the Sarah and Chaim Neuberger Holocaust Education Centre) will engage young people in their understanding of its' pivotal moments, as well as, provide them with the importance of remembering such moments in the future. While our target audience is the youth of the community, CPL encourages all members of the community to join us in remembering the Holocaust.
