Fifteen year old Bee and her mother, Bernadette are best friends. Bernadette is known for her opinionated personality and has a love/hate relationship with many who know her. When Bee brings home perfect scores on her report card, the reward for those perfect grades is a family vacation to Antarctica. The problem is, however, that Bernadette suffers from agoraphobia, and cannot even dream of leaving her home for such a trip. When she disappears without a trace, Bee pulls out all of the stops to find her mother in ‘Where’d You Go, Bernadette?’ by Maria Semple.
