A toe tapping, head bobbing repertoire of piano music will keep the audience ‘in tune’ with the Boogie Woogie Kid, Matthew Ball, as he performs at the Wheatfield Library on Saturday, April 29 @ 2 pm. All ages are invited to enjoy this rousing, joyful plethora of chords as this national touring artist performs music from the Swing Era and more!
Matthew Ball, The Boogie Woogie Kid, is an attorney-turned-musician, described as “Michigan’s leading boogie woogie pianist” by the Romeo Observer and is a graduate of Oakland University and the University of Detroit, earning degrees in Music, History & Law.
Matthew Ball’s jazz career started in 2001. After attending a jazz festival and being totally awestruck by the music, Matthew decided to leave his law career and make a musical career for himself, launching that career with a performance at the exclusive Arches Piano Stage in Cincinnati in 2005, proudly playing alongside the very same jazz musicians who inspired him back in 2001!
This concert is free, and open to all ages. Don’t miss this family friendly, fun and energetic musical performance. Registration is appreciated, and is available online at www.myjcpl.org/events or by visiting or calling the Wheatfield Library, 350 S Bierma St., Wheatfield, 219 956-3774.
