Flip Flop on the Appalachian Trail with Maribeth Crandell
Port Townsend Public Library - Carnegie Reading Room

Thursday, Jan. 10, 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.
At age forty-seven, Maribeth Crandell decided to walk the 2,175 mile Appalachian Trail. Join Maribeth for an author talk and slides from her book and adventures hiking the Appalachian Trail northward from Georgia to New York and then again from Maine south.

Maribeth Crandell grew up in North Carolina and loved the outdoors. She went to college in the Blue Ridge Mountains and studied Environmental Education. Moving to the Pacific Northwest she worked as a naturalist, outdoor educator and guide from the Columbia River to Southeast Alaska. In mid-life she went back to school to get a Teaching Certificate and Masters in Human Development. She has worked as a community outreach educator for many years on Whidbey Island in Washington State. She still hikes the rugged trails of the Pacific Northwest and Appalachia.
