About Laura Troy, MA, MS. LPC

Laura Troy hated every job she ever had.  After nearly twenty years of sleepless Sunday nights and tense Monday mornings, she knew she had to make a change.  She contacted a career counselor and began a three-year journey to self-discovery.  In the process, she uncovered a very strong desire to guide and support individuals in their own search for meaning.  She enrolled in graduate school and earned a Master of Arts in Counseling and Human Services at Montclair State University in 2004.  In 2010 she earned a Master of Science in Psychology and Public Administration from Walden University.  Since 2011 she has been “living her dream” as Program Coordinator and Counselor for the Displaced Homemakers Program at the Bergen County Job Center.   Her joy is in guiding and supporting her clients in finding their own paths.  She no longer fears Monday mornings.
