Meet Salvatore Presto, PhD, Professor of History, Stevens Institute of Technology, for an in-depth study of the psycho-social factors in the Salem witchcraft hysteria of 1692. Understand the historical and current explanations which took the lives of twenty for witchcraft. Discuss the impact of class separation, contaminated grain, anxiety due to war in contrast to the contemporary explanation of parental conflict with adolescents in a repressed society with the introduction of Caribbean servants with unfamiliar customs. Join us for an interesting study of this historical tragedy.
