or call 518-274-7071.
Local artist, Christine Levy will demonstrate the ancient art of pysanky, a Ukrainian craft and tradition that involves the intricate and detailed decorating of Easter eggs using wax resist and dyes.  The demonstration/lecture will show participants how pysanky are made and will give an overview of the history and rich symbolism of pysanky.
A second generation Ukrainian-American, Christine has been working with pysanky for over 40 years.  She learned the intricate craft from her family and from her Church where classes were taught.  She now teaches pysanky in many local venues including the Ukrainian Church, art centers, schools, and community centers.  The pysanky are not only beautiful creations, but they are also sacred expressions of uplifting spirituality!  Come and see what this ancient and beautiful art is all about!
