Rhythm & Music Workshop
Bradley Public Library

Thursday, Aug. 25, 10am-12pm
Join us for this workshop led by Anne-Marie Akin from Old Town School of Folk Music! Aimed towards children's librarians and early childhood educators. The workshop will be divided into three sections.
Part one will be an introduction tothe basics of early childhood rhythm and movement.
Part two will include specific instruction on how to use drums and other instruments.
Part three will be creative and collaborative, building and engaging story time using a familiar text, and adding finger
plays, movement extensions, or rhythm expansion.
Each librarian will leave the workshop with a clear sense of the value of adding music and rhythm, and also with a set of new skills they can incorporate right away. Even librarians who are not yet confident singers will feel prepared to lead chants or marches.

Bradley Public Library will provide a limited number of bongos and other percussion instruments for the workshop. Participants are free to bring their own percussion instruments.
