It’s time to make a mess! You didn’t think you’d be able to get through an entire summer’s worth of crafting with me and not get messy at least once did you? This is one of those crafts that I’ve long admired in various home décor magazine layouts, yet up until just the other day I honestly did not think we were going to make them! It’s a balloon and string for goodness sakes, how difficult can it be, right? You’d be surprised! Every time I tried, it imploded upon itself like a science experiment gone bad, lol! After fiddling with my attempts for several weeks I was finally able to say, “Eureka!” I had found at least one way that worked and that’s all we need!

BEFORE THE PROGRAM, chillax and think of how awesome it will be when Better Homes & Gardens comes to your home for your photoshoot, haha!

I’ve seen these made with yarn, twine, vine, and twigs, all looking lovely strung up with tiny holiday lights, or in a bowl on a coffee table or on a book shelf. I’ve even seen these cut in half and used as decorative bowls! Thanks to an extremely generous donation of yarn from very own knitting group (thank you knitters!), we will be constructing ours from yarn.

In order to complete this craft, you will need to purchase or have on hand: clothing on that you don’t mind getting dirty, scissors, a ruler or yard stick, a small pin or needle, a clothes hanger you don’t care about (metal or wood or plastic, it doesn’t matter as long as it has the piece going across so that you can hang the spheres from it as they dry), a jar of petroleum jelly, a wide-mouth container so you can saturate the yarn with your diluted glue mixture, regular Elmer’s glue you will need A LOT, so at least the 7.625 fl oz. bottle (please note, unlike last week NO HOT GLUE, OR ANY KIND OF HEAVY DUTY GLUE, THOSE WILL NOT WORK WELL for this project, they’re too strong!).

A separate registration is required for each week's session. You will receive your Zoom login information by email. You will also be notified by email when your Make It Mondays! bag of supplies is ready to be picked up. The Make It Mondays! bag will contain MOST of the materials needed to complete your craft. Space is limited!
