G.E.M.S. Girls Science Club

DNA Genetics by Lisa McCormick, a genetics scientist. The girls learned some basic scientific concepts related to conducting good experiments, extracted DNA from a strawberry, and made DNA necklaces. Lisa explained her background and shared information about some of her favorite geneticists. Discussed “jumping genes” and why DNA testing can benefit society. Grades: 4-7. Registration required.
