STEM LAB - The Science of Rock Candy (virtual @ Troke)

Tuesday, Jan. 18, 4:30pm
Tweens and teens will make rock candy through staff direction, using items from home, (we will supply candy sticks).  This activity will be presented as a 'lab experiment' and we will discuss the 'science' of how the ingredients become 'rock candy'.

Ages 11 to 17.  Pick up some materials at the library starting January 12th.  For the experiment, you need the following items:  several cups of sugar, food coloring, 2 - mason jars (pint size), stirring spoons, measuring cup and a canning or standard funnel.

A responsible person must be able to help with heating up the water and help prepare and pour the solution.
This program will be presented through a TEAMS meeting; the link will be sent before the start of the meeting - no need for special account".
