Daughters of the Dust - A Film By Julie Dash

Set in 1902, Daughters of the Dust is an intimate look at a day in the lives of a family living on one of the Beaufort Sea Islands off the coast of South Carolina and Georgia where a unique African American culture known as the Gullah has developed.  

Using the library's new digital service 'Kanopy', the Ripon Library is presenting this film to celebrate black history month.
