Genealogy Workshop: How to Start a Family Tree

Saturday, Feb. 15, 10 am to 12 pm
Have you been wanting to trace your roots but keep putting it off? Get started this year. Join us on Saturday, February 15, for some valuable tips on getting started.

This beginners' session will equip you with the basics of sound research methods, helpful tools and websites for beginning your search for your roots. Volunteers from the San Joaquin Genealogical Society will be on hand to share stories of what they have learned from beginning their own family histories.

After the presentation, volunteers will be available for individual help with your online research.  Please bring whatever data and documentation you already have, such as birth, marriage, and death dates of ancestors and where they lived.

Feel free bring your own laptop or tablet to the workshop, or use one of our laptops. Free Wi-Fi is available in the library.

Space is limited! Those interested in attending this workshop must register online, sign-up in person at the Troke Branch Library Information Desk, or call (209) 937-8221.

For further information, email the Society at sjcogensoc@gmail.com.
