Native Peoples and Plants

Saturday, Nov. 2, 2:30 pm

Join us as we explore traditional land stewardship techniques of Native American tribes and First Nation peoples. Being a steward of the land has long been an integral part of Native American culture. Using stories and building tribal traditions, native peoples identified plants, their uses, their growth habits and habitats, and even planned continuation strategies to assure a balanced ecological food web.

Included is an activity highlighting rope making as a creative recycling skill with an opportunity to create your own bracelet.

Program is designed for children 3rd-6th grades.

Sponsored by Friends of the Manteca Library.
