You could have Quaker ancestors and not even know it.  While there were only a couple of short-lived meetings in Clinton County, the Quakers were very active in the surrounding counties and across central Indiana. Quaker records are unique and often intimidating to use but can quickly and reliably take your family tree back several generations. Quaker records are detailed and can link your research to original sources many people overlook.  Parts of Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, and Ohio were heavily settled by Quakers. If your ancestors came from these areas, you might find them in Quaker Meeting Minutes.

Dennis Hoffman, a life-long Clinton County resident, has been researching his family history for over forty years.  Since he has many Quaker ancestors himself and his wife comes from a Quaker family, he has become well-versed in researching Quaker records.
