Free Thursday Movie: Meet Me in St. Louis (1944)
Freeport Community Library
Thursday, Dec. 21, 1:00-3:00pm
Join us for our Thursday movie showing of Meet Me in St. Louis, starring Judy Garland, Margaret O'Brien, and Mary Astor. The four Smith daughters prepare for a reluctant move to New York in the year leading up to the Louisiana Purchase Exposition, or the more popularly coined World Fair, in the spring of 1904. Meet Me in St. Louis is directed by Vinente Minelli, one of Garland's eventual husbands, and is told in a series of seasonal vignettes. Garland's renditions of "The Trolley Song," "The Boy Next Door," and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" all became hits after the movie's release.

All Thursday films are closed-captioned.

Freeport Community Library welcomes the general public and library members alike for our free Thursday films. This movie is not rated and is 1 h 53 m long. For directions to the library, please visit our website at www.freeportlibrary.com or call 207-865-3307.
