South Library: Toddler Time
South Branch
Monday, Mar. 27, 9:15AM and 10:15AM
Toddler Time introduces children age 18 months to 3 to books with simple language and predictable plots. This program also introduces toddlers to storytime manners by helping them build listening skills and practice the self-control needed to be a good audience. Toddler Time is most appropriate for children that are not yet ready to sit for long periods of time and listen to more complex stories. Each Toddler Time is about 20 minutes long and concludes with a coloring activity.

To ensure an enjoyable storytime experience for all families, please observe the following guidelines:

· Prepare your child for Toddler Time by talking about storytime manners—sitting or standing still, listening to the storyteller, talking quietly, and being kind to others.
· Some children need to work up to sitting through a full, 30-minute storytime. If your child becomes restless or upset, please step out of the room for a “break”, then quietly return when your child is ready.
· Small children may stand instead of sit, but should not run or climb during storytime.
· Keep casual conversations to a minimum and place cell phones on silent mode.

South Library: Preschool Storytime
South Branch
Tuesday, Mar. 28, 10:00AM and 10:30AM
Preschool Storytime provides a place for children age 3 years and up to practice the storytime manners they have learned in Toddler Time. Children in Preschool Storytime are expected to sit or stand still, listen to the storyteller, and practice self-control for longer periods of time than required during Toddler Time. Stories are longer and activities are more complex. Children may practice their independence by attending Preschool Storytime without their caregiver (caregiver must remain on the first floor of the library at all times). Preschool Storytime lasts about 30 minutes. Due to fire occupancty limits, tickets are required for Preschool Storytime. Tickets are free and may be picked up beginning 30 minutes before each Preschool Storytime begins.

To ensure an enjoyable storytime experience for all families, please observe the following guidelines:

· Prepare your child for Preschool Storytime by talking about storytime manners—sitting or standing still, listening to the storyteller, talking quietly, and being kind to others.
