Join us for upcoming events, classes and programs at Tye Preston Memorial Library! All events are free and open to the public. Registration required where noted.

Two hour workshop in which you will build your own cigar box guitar. All materials will be provided but bring your own nuts, bolts, and bling to decorate your box. Registration limited to 15 people.

Join a party of adventurers as you quest through fantastic lands, explore dungeons and battle dragons in this teen only Dungeons & Dragons group. Sign up online or ask for Jamie at the help desk. This will be a continuation of our previous adventure, new additions are welcome. Ages 13-18 only.

Learn to use a 3D printer and 3D scanner and the software for 3D modeling. Open to all ages and levels of experience.

 

Tuesday, Jun. 4, 6:00-7:30 PM (Tuesdays, June 4th & 18th, 6 p.m.)
Learn to create 3D models to print with Fusion 360. This is a 2 part course, please be aware that you are signing up for both courses when you register for this event. 
Wednesday, Jun. 5, 6pm-7:30pm (Wednesdays, June 5th-June 26th)
Register now if you are interested and can commit to a four-week course that will be held on Wednesday evenings beginning June 5th from 6:00pm-7:30pm. Class size will be limited to ten adult beginners. All materials, including the ukuleles, will be provided. You do not need any experience or musical training--just a willingness to learn and plenty of enthusiasm. Sign up right away...UKE can do it!

Come paint miniature figures, terrain, dollhouse objects or other things with us! Paint store bought, sculpted or 3D printed miniature objects! Bring your own miniature if you want to keep it, or paint and leave one of ours.

Do you have a 3d printer or planning to buy one and want to know how to set it up?  Or are you having issues with your printer and would like some help?

This class will cover setting up your printer and your slicer and basic trouble shooting as well as simple upgrades you can print to make your prints more consistent.

Setting up will include calibration, bed leveling, adhesion, supports, etc.

If you have your own 3D printer, you are encouraged to bring it, as it will be easier to work on if it is present.

Learn about more advanced 3D printing concepts, including the following:

Advanced slicer settings,  Flashing a bootloader with an Arduino UNO, Flashing updated firmware, Octoprint, more upgrades, etc.

If you have a Tevo or Creality machine, flashing updated firmware is important in order to activate thermal safety features. 

You are encouraged to bring your 3D printer if you own one, as it will be easier to work with it present.
