Join us for the following events, classes, and programs at your local Newport News library. All events are free and some events require registration (where listed).
Dogs in the library?! The PAWS to READ program helps children ages 6 to 10 build their confidence by reading out loud to trained therapy dogs at Grissom Library on the first Saturday of each month. Parents need to sign a permission form and may accompany their children. No registration is required.
Storytime for parents and children ages 2 1/2 to 3 1/2, which includes stories, sings, fingerplays, flannelboard stories, and a simple craft. Registration is required and begins Jan. 4, 2010.
For children ages 3 to 5, on their own, which includes stories, songs, fingerplays, flannelboards, and a craft activity. Registration is required and begins January 4, 2010.

Join Pearl Bailey Library’s new book club for kids to read and discuss books and do fun, book-related activities. The Book Club will meet once a month. For children ages 7-11.
Children ages 6-11 are invited to join the new library advisory group for youth at the Pearl Bailey Library. The FKO Youth Advisory Committee will meet on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.
